GMOサイバーセキュリティ byイエラエが「Japan Space ISAC」にサイバーセキュリティ事業者として初加盟

On November 1, 2025, GMO Cyber Security by Ierae, Inc. joined the Japan Space ISAC (*1).

(※1) ISAC is an abbreviation for Information Sharing and Analysis Center, an organization that aims to improve the security level of the entire industry by sharing and analyzing cybersecurity threat and incident information within specific industries such as finance, electricity, transportation, and healthcare.

The growth of the space industry and the importance of security

The global space industry market is currently worth approximately 54 trillion yen and is predicted to reach 140 trillion yen by 2040 (estimated by Morgan Stanley). In Japan, the market size is approximately 4 trillion yen, and the government aims to double this (to approximately 8 trillion yen) in the early 2030s.
Furthermore, the small satellite market is growing rapidly worldwide, and is expected to reach approximately US$253.2 billion by 2033, with an average annual growth rate of 12.45%. The Japanese market is also predicted to grow at an average annual rate of 8.5% by 2033, reaching approximately US$685.1 million.

This growth is being supported by the spread of reusable rockets that reduce costs, and small satellite groups (mega-constellations) that can be used for a variety of purposes, including communications, observation, and disaster prevention. However, space systems are closely linked to ground networks, and the risk of cyber attacks is becoming more serious. Cross-industry information sharing and security measures are essential for the safe use of space.

We aim to establish security evaluations and defense methods for space-related systems, and contribute to improving safety throughout the industry through ISAC.

Our main activities at Japan Space ISAC are as follows:

  • Threat Information Sharing and Analysis: Collecting and sharing cyber threat intelligence specialized for the space sector
  • Research and Development: Developing technologies that contribute to strengthening the security of space systems
Taking advantage of its membership in ISAC, GMO Cyber Security by Ierae will collaborate with domestic and international partners to accelerate research and development of security evaluation and defense technologies in the space industry to support safe and secure space utilization.
