GMO Cybersecurity by Ierae Inc. (CEO: Makita Makoto), a company within the GMO Internet Group specializing in cyberattack countermeasures, has entered into a comprehensive business partnership agreement with Warpspace Inc. (CEO: Hiroyuki Azuma) as of June 12, 2025.
Through this partnership, the two companies will combine Warpspace’s cutting-edge space digital twin technology with GMO Cybersecurity by Ierae’s deep expertise in cybersecurity, cultivated over many years. Together, we will promote joint research aimed at realizing a secure development and operational platform for space-based satellite systems.

Purpose and Overview of the Business Partnership
GMO Cybersecurity by Ierae and Warpspace have entered into a business partnership with the aim of establishing robust cybersecurity in the space industry and promoting its security and sustainability. By combining Warpspace’s advanced space digital twin technology with GMO Cybersecurity by Ierae’s extensive expertise in cybersecurity, the two companies will conduct joint research to develop a next-generation development and operation platform that provides comprehensive support for space systems.
This platform will precisely reproduce complex space systems—such as satellite constellations that involve the coordinated operation of multiple satellites—within a virtual environment. GMO Cybersecurity by Ierae will particularly focus on enhancing cybersecurity education for engineers involved in space systems, as well as enabling practical incident response training, which is critical for minimizing the impact of cyberattacks and ensuring rapid system recovery. Utilizing space digital twin technology, a virtual space-based environment can be constructed within a digital setting. This enables developers and operators of space systems to conduct repeated incident response training without impacting actual hardware. As a result, their ability to respond to complex and sophisticated cyberattacks or system failures can be significantly enhanced.
Supporting the Secure Development and Operation of Space Systems by Digital Twin Technology
By leveraging this platform, developers of space systems will be able to incorporate cybersecurity countermeasures from the early stages of development, with an awareness of potential threats and their impacts. Reproducing planned space systems in a digital environment allows for practical evaluations of their resilience against cyberattacks.
Through this approach, the concept of “secure by design” can be more broadly adopted in the space industry, contributing to improve overall level of space cybersecurity. This initiative aims to raise security standards across all phases of space development and establish a new benchmark for cybersecurity in the space sector.
